Pianist Magdalena Baczewska Performs at Jamesport Meeting House

World-acclaimed pianist, Magdalena Baczewska, is set to perform at the historic Jamesport Meeting House on Saturday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. This marks her fourth appearance at this venue. The concert will be dedicated to French composer, conductor and teacher, Nadia Boulanger. The performance will feature compositions by Boulanger’s favorite composer, J.S. Bach, her famous students Philip Glass and Aaron Copland, and works by Boulanger herself and her sister, Lili. The concert will conclude with Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, a composer whom Boulanger refused to take on as a student. A reception with the artist will follow the performance. Tickets for the concert are priced at $20 and can be purchased online in advance. The Jamesport Meeting House, erected in 1731, is the oldest public structure on the East End and is prized for its superb acoustics.
