Join East End Food Market on Nov. 17, 2023, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for a unique culinary experience, ‘Preserving Traditions: A Cooking Demonstration and Celebration.’ This event will showcase the art of preparing dishes inspired by the newly released cookbook, ‘The Ark of Taste: Delicious and Distinctive Foods That Define the United States,’ written by Slow Food USA.
The evening will be led by Chef Lippin, who will demonstrate how to prepare dishes from the book’s treasured recipes. Attendees will have the opportunity to savor the flavors that define America’s diverse culinary landscape, while also exploring the stories and traditions behind these remarkable ingredients.
‘The Ark of Taste’ is more than just a cookbook. It’s a living catalog of our food heritage and a movement to preserve gastronomic treasures passed down for generations. Many of the unique food products featured in the book were revived or saved from extinction, making this event a heartfelt tribute to the rich tapestry of American cuisine.
The event will be held under the big tent at East End Food Market, located at 139 Main Road. The cost to attend is $40. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the East End Food Market website. Please note that this is a nonprofit event, with all proceeds going towards supporting, promoting, and advocating for local farmers and producers.
