Riverhead PAL bike rodeo

Kids have a chance to compete for a brand-new bicycle on Saturday, May 19 in the Riverhead Police Athletic League’s annual bike rodeo.

The event takes place at Stotzky Park, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Children must be able to ride a two-wheeler and a helmet is necessary to compete in the rodeo.

The bike rodeo is free and open to all Riverhead Town residents in kindergarten through sixth grade. Kids compete on a bike safety course designed by the American Automobile Association. Bikes will be awarded to the winner of each grade group: K-2, 3-4 and 5-6. Other prizes are awarded to the top finishers in all grade categories.

The rain date is Sunday, May 20 at 12:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, please call 727-5744 ext. 30.
