The Southold Historical Museum is hosting its annual Candlelight Tour and Tree Lighting on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Maple Lane Complex. This event is a cherished tradition in the Southold community, marking the start of the holiday season with old-fashioned fun.
Highlights of the tour include:
– A visit with Santa in the barn, set against the backdrop of a beautiful Christmas tree.
– Tours of historic houses, including the 18th-century Thomas Moore House and the late-Victorian Ann Currie-Bell House. The latter will feature a Christmas village and live music.
– Demonstrations of traditional crafts such as carpentry, blacksmithing, fiber arts, basket weaving, and print shop techniques.
– Children’s games on the lawn and hot chocolate to warm up while strolling the grounds.
