The Suffolk Theater in Riverhead is set to host Texas Flood, a renowned tribute to the legendary blues musician Stevie Ray Vaughan, on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at 8 p.m. The performance is led by Tommy Katona, a blues guitarist from Pécs, Hungary, who has been recognized as a child prodigy. Katona, heavily influenced by Vaughan from a young age, has built a reputation for his flawless recreations of Vaughan’s music, note for note. Texas Flood has gained popularity as one of the premier blues bands in North Texas. Katona’s early career highlights include opening for Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones, playing with Memphis blues legend Eb Davis, sharing a stage with Muddy Water’s son, Big Bill Morganfield, and the great Chicago harmonica player Sugar Blue.
