The Suffolk, a historic Art Deco venue, is bringing the holiday spirit to Riverhead with a double feature of Christmas movies on Saturday, Dec. 6. The screenings will feature the family-favorite Elf at 3 p.m. and the not-so-family-friendly cult classic Violent Night at 8 p.m.
Elf (2003) is a heartwarming comedy about Buddy (Will Ferrell), a human raised by elves who embarks on a journey to New York City to find his biological father. The film’s humor and holiday spirit make it a perfect choice for a family outing. The Suffolk will enhance the experience with hot chocolate specials and small bites available to order throughout the movie.
In contrast, Violent Night (2022) offers a darker take on the holiday season. The film follows a disillusioned Santa Claus (David Harbour) who must save a wealthy family from mercenaries on Christmas Eve. The movie blends dark humor, gore, and Christmas spirit into a thrilling holiday adventure. Beer specials and small bites will be available to order throughout the movie.
Tickets for the screenings are priced at $20 with no additional fees. They can be purchased online at TheSuffolk.org.
