Join the Whale Rug Hooking Workshop at Hallockville Museum Farm on June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of traditional rug hooking or hone their existing skills while working on a whimsical whale named Spout. The finished project will measure approximately 5 x 12 inches. The workshop will cover not only basic good practices, but also finishing techniques, color planning and a little bit of history, too. Participants will need a hook, a frame, and a pair of scissors. (Hooks and frames will be available for purchase if you do not have them.) A $32 materials fee is due at class for pattern on linen and pre-cut woolen fabric strips. The workshop is led by instructor Sarah McNamara. To register, visit the Hallockville Museum Farm website.
