Women in Jazz All-Star Band at Jamesport Meeting House

The Jamesport Meeting House will host a special performance by the Women in Jazz All-Star Band on Friday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. This concert is presented by East End Jazz in celebration of Women’s History Month and will showcase the talent and artistry of female musicians who have made significant contributions to the world of jazz.

The program will feature music from iconic female jazz figures such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Mary Lou Williams, Carla Bley, Alice Coltrane, Dorothea Fields, Irene Higginbotham, and many more.

The Women in Jazz All-Star Band features a stellar lineup of musicians, including:

– Vocalist Olivia Foschi
– Bandleader and singer Vanessa Trouble
– Renowned saxophonist Ada Rovatti
– Rising star Kal Ferretti on trumpet
– Pianist and composer Eugenia Choe
– Bassist and composer Iris Ornig
– Esteemed jazz drummer Gary Kerkezou

Tickets are $20 and may be purchased in advance through the Jamesport Meeting House website. Advance purchase is recommended due to the popularity of the event.

The Jamesport Meeting House, erected in 1731, is the oldest public structure on the East End of Long Island and is prized for its superb acoustics as well as its historic significance.
