The Greater Jamesport Civic Association will host a free basic life support training class at the Jamesport Fire Department. The session covers CPR and how to use an AED, and is intended for people who want to be prepared to help in an emergency.
Jamesport Fire Department will host an open house at its training center, 25 Manor Lane in Jamesport of Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Demonstrations include: vehicle extrication, vehicle fire, K-9 arson dog, fire extinguisher trailer, booster hose target activities for elementary students and pedal car rides for teenagers and adults to promote education and DWI enforcement.
The Jamesport Fire Department is hosting an Open House and Ladies Auxiliary Yard Sale on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The department is also conducting a food drive this weekend to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.
