The North Fork Breast Health Coalition (NFBHC) is commemorating its 25th anniversary with a “5K Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness” on Sunday, Sept. 24. The event, sponsored by Tanger Outlet Center, is a fundraiser aimed at supporting the coalition’s mission of providing free services and grants to breast cancer patients.
The day’s schedule is as follows:
– 7:30-8:45 a.m.: Registration
– 8:45 a.m.: Opening ceremony with greetings from Bernadette Tuthill, vice president of NFBHC
– 9 a.m.: Start of the 5K Walk
Participants can pre-register on the NFBHC website or register on the day of the event. The registration fee is $35. The first 300 entrants will receive a gift bag. Walkers are also encouraged to gather pledges of support from friends, family, and colleagues.
Top fundraising awards will be given in the following categories: Young Adult (ages 13-19), Adult, Breast Cancer Survivor, and Business/Team. Team captains are responsible for registering team members and submitting pledge money on the morning of the event.
Before the walk, participants can enjoy a light breakfast that includes coffee and tea with muffins, granola bars, and fruit. There will also be a raffle featuring beautiful prizes donated by Tanger Outlet stores.
