The Hallockville Museum Farm is hosting the Fleece & Fiber Festival on May 18, 2024. This festival is a celebration of fiber arts and will feature a variety of activities and demonstrations. Here’s what to expect:
– Fiber Artisans: Handmade and authentic works will be on display and for sale.
– Animal Displays: Get up close with the sheep, rabbits, llamas, and alpacas that provide the fleece and fiber.
– Demonstrations: Learn about basket weaving, carding and spinning, needle felting, rug-hooking, and more.
– Sheep & Llama Shearing: Watch as an expert shearer demonstrates how fiber is harvested.
– Food Trucks & Bake Sale: Grab a bite to eat or a sweet treat.
– Weaving & Quilting Demonstrations: See how fiber is woven into cloth and other pieces, and watch quilting artisans at work.
