Ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro performs at the Suffolk. Shimabukuro, who was born and raised in Honolulu, is known for expanding the ukulele’s range across styles including jazz, rock, classical, blues, folk and traditional Hawaiian music.
He gained wide attention for a viral performance of George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and has since released multiple albums, collaborated with artists including Bette Midler, Yo-Yo Ma, Jimmy Buffett, Ziggy Marley and Mick Fleetwood, and appeared at venues such as the Sydney Opera House, the Hollywood Bowl and the Kennedy Center.
