Movie matinee Friday: “Hamilton”

Riverhead Free Library will screen “Hamilton,” Lin-Manuel Miranda’s filmed Broadway musical about American founding father Alexander Hamilton.

The story follows Hamilton’s rise from an orphan to a central figure in the American Revolution and the early U.S. government and ends with his duel with Aaron Burr. The production blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and traditional show tunes and is based on Ron Chernow’s biography.

Concession-style snacks will be available. No registration is required.
