The Greater Jamesport Civic Association will host a New York Citizen Preparedness Training class led by the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services.
The session covers how to prepare for natural or man-made disasters, including developing a family emergency plan, selecting and stocking emergency supplies, and using tools and resources that can help residents respond during an emergency.
The class is free and open to the public, with advance registration required. Participants will receive one preparedness kit per family.
