Ingenuity & resistance: the history of African American foods in early New York

Local historian Melanie Cardone-Leathers will discuss the culinary history of African Americans in the New York area, focusing on the foods, the stories behind them and the legacies they left behind.

Participants will take home recipes and a sample of a kitchen spice. Registration is available through the Mattituck-Laurel Library website.
