Riverhead Repair Cafe and Halloween Costume Swap

The North Fork Environmental Council and the Riverhead parks and recreation department will host a Riverhead Repair Cafe at the George Young Community Center in Jamesport.

Residents are invited to bring one or two broken household items to work on with skilled helpers and volunteers, with the goal of keeping usable goods out of the landfill. Items may include clothing and textiles, small furniture, electrical appliances, toys, bicycles and other everyday items.

The event will also include a Halloween costume swap.

The Repair Cafe is free to attend. Voluntary donations are appreciated.

Skilled helpers and volunteers are still needed. Those interested in volunteering can email margaret@nfec1.org or schandel@townofriverheadny.gov.
