The Mattituck-Laurel Library is hosting a special program titled ‘Rosie the Riveters: World War II’ on June 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. This program focuses on the ‘Rosies’, women who took their place on the home front during WWII, serving as riveters, welders, pilots, nurses, scientists, and truck drivers. The presentation, offered by Patricia DelGiorno, will explore how their work influenced the course of the war, and conversely, how the war work affected women’s lives. The event includes film clips of interviews with many of the ‘Rosies’. This event is free to attend. Register at the library’s website.
