Second Annual Black History on Screen at the Suffolk Theater

February 21, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Free

The Riverhead Anti-Bias Task Force and Suffolk Theater invite you to the second annual ‘Black History on Screen’ event, a celebration of Negro League Baseball. The main feature of the evening is the documentary ‘The League’. A panel discussion will follow the screening, with special guests including New York Mets World Series Champion Dwight ‘Doc’ Gooden, Green Bay Packers Super Bowl champion Gary Brown, and Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame President Chris Vaccaro. The discussion will be moderated by ABTF Chairperson Mark McLaughlin.

This event is in honor of the historic milestone made on May 30, 2024, when Major League Baseball announced that it would add Negro Leagues statistics to its official historical record. The event is free to attend.
