Sept. 11 prayer ceremony at World Trade Center Memorial Park

The Town of Riverhead will host a prayer ceremony at its World Trade Center Memorial Park on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. to honor the victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks. The prayer ceremony will be led by Town Clerk James Wooten.

World Trade Center Memorial Park is located at the corner of Edwards and Riley avenues in Calverton.

At 6 p.m. that evening, the annual candlelight walk will take place on Park Road in Riverhead, proceeding from Marine Street to the 9/11 Memorial Park on Sound Avenue, where a remembrance service will take place.
