Hallockville Museum Farm will host a presentation on the Culper Spy Ring, the Revolutionary War-era intelligence network that operated across Long Island in support of George Washington and the Continental Army.
Former Newsday reporter and author Bill Bleyer will present “The True Story of the Culper Spy Ring,” based on his book, George Washington’s Long Island Spy Ring: A History and Tour Guide. Using a PowerPoint presentation, Bleyer will separate fact from fiction surrounding the spy ring, including stories popularized in recent years, such as Anna Strong’s alleged clothesline signals.
The program is free and open to the public. Registration is requested.
