Volunteer Recruitment Open House at Hallockville Museum Farm

Hallockville Museum Farm, a preserved 28-acre farm homestead located on Sound Avenue in Riverhead, is hosting an open house on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is designed for history buffs, farming fans, and those interested in community service to learn more about volunteering opportunities at this historic North Fork landmark.

The nonprofit Museum Farm boasts 19 historic buildings, antique farm equipment, and a variety of farm animals including cows, pigs, sheep, and chickens. Volunteer roles at Hallockville Museum Farm are diverse and include:

– Gardening
– Helping to organize and staff special events
– Maintaining the buildings, grounds, and historic collections
– Serving as tour docents
– Arranging and leading educational and children’s activities and adult workshops
– Assisting with marketing and fundraising

Adults and teens interested in attending the April 27 Volunteer Recruitment Open House are encouraged to sign up in advance by email or phone. Walk-ins are also welcome.
