We Huddle for Hunger at Stotzky Park

Join the Riverhead community for a day of flag football and civic engagement at ‘We Huddle For Hunger’ on Nov. 9 at Stotzky Park. This initiative combines the thrill of the game with a community-driven food drive. Participants are encouraged to bring canned goods to join in the game, addressing local food insecurity and promoting fitness, teamwork, and civic engagement.

The event aims to help local food pantries and residents in need right in time for Thanksgiving, showcasing Riverhead’s commitment to community solidarity, hunger relief, and youth empowerment. The event is supported by local figures and organizations such as Mark MK McLaughlin, Riverhead ABTF, Riverhead Recreation Department, Riverhead PAL, State Farm, and the Riverhead Rotary Club.

The Riverhead Rotary Club, joined by local pantries, will collect and distribute the donated canned goods and non-perishable items. This is strictly a community event, and participation is free. However, donations of canned goods and non-perishable items are highly encouraged.
