Come down to the Peconic Riverfront Aug. 3 for Riverhead's Cardboard Boat Races. Watch competitors race boats made of cardboard and duct tape on the Peconic River. The races include the Youth Regatta, Yacht Club Regatta, Outlaw and Pirate Race. Captains and skippers will attempt to race down the river, round a buoy and make it back to the dock without sinking. The madcap fun begins at 11 a.m. Come early to see the boats and crews lined up for inspection.
