Join the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County for a comprehensive program on diabetes management, titled ‘Diabetes 101’. The program is scheduled for Nov. 8, starting at noon and ending at 1 p.m., with an additional 15 to 20 minutes for a Q & A session. The session will be led by a registered dietician, Nicole Cappello, and is aimed at those who have been diagnosed with diabetes or their loved ones. The program will cover essential self-management skills such as:
– Meal planning
– Self-testing blood glucose levels
– Working with healthcare providers
– Stress management
In recognition of National Diabetes Month, the class is free to attend and Spanish translation will be available. Light refreshments will also be provided.
