Community members are encouraged to discuss and learn about the new East End Food Hub on Wednesday, March 15 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the East End Food Market at 139 Main Road in Riverhead.
The East End Food Hub will be a centralized location for the collection, processing and distribution of local foods. This projects aims to create new markets for produce and products from Long Island. The hub will also address inequalities in regards to food access in schools, food pantries and other local places.
The session will be hosted by East End Food Institute Executive Director Kate Fullam and facilitator Maureen Cruder. Sessions will also be streamed via Zoom for the link and can be accessed by visiting the hub’s website.
