Southold Historical Museum will present a three-part winter lecture series focused on lighthouse and maritime history.
The series opens Feb. 26 with “Stella Prince … Her Story Continues,” a talk by Mary Korpi, author of “The Lady Lighthouse Keeper.” On March 26, Cynthia Barrett, author of “Three Sheets to the Wind,” will present “The Nautical Origins of Everyday Expressions.” The final program, “Women Who Kept the Lights, 1776 to 2023,” is scheduled for April 16 and will be presented via Zoom by Sally Snowman, the last official lighthouse keeper in the United States, and Jeremy D’Entremont, historian for the U.S. Lighthouse Society and author of more than 20 books on lighthouses and maritime history.
All lectures begin at 1 p.m. The Feb. 26 and March 26 talks will be held at the Ann Currie-Bell House Gallery on the museum’s Maple Lane campus. The April 16 program will be held online via Zoom.
