Old Steeple Community Church’s annual Chicken BBQ returns Saturday, July 18, rain or shine, with take-out dinners available for pickup from 4 to 6 p.m. Meals include BBQ half chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, corn on the cob, roll and dessert, with partial proceeds benefiting local food pantries.
Paddle Battle 2026, benefiting the New York Marine Rescue Center, takes place Saturday, July 25, along the Peconic River in Riverhead. Register as an individual or group for a competitive race or a non-competitive course, with prizes, vendors, a raffle, and tours of the NYMRC hospital area.

St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church hosts its annual chicken barbecue on the parish grounds in Riverhead. The event includes live Ukrainian music, raffles, family activities and takeout, with food service from 3 to 5 p.m.

Riverhead Rotary’s 35th annual Bruce Stark Memorial Golf Outing raises scholarship funds for Riverhead High School students attending college. The day includes 18 holes of golf, breakfast, food on the course, a cocktail hour, dinner, an open bar and an auction.
The Sound Park Heights Civic Association will observe the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attack with its annual candlelight walk and ceremony at 9-11 Memorial Park, at Sound Avenue and Park Road. The walk begins at 5:45 p.m., followed by the ceremony at 6 p.m.
