The Riverhead Highway Department’s popular truck show for kids will return later this month, giving children a chance to get an up-close look at the department’s trucks and equipment. The free event will be held Saturday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Riverhead Highway Department yard, 1177 Osborn Avenue in Riverhead.

Friends of The Big Duck will hold its 14th annual Rubber Duckie Race on Reeves Bay, with viewing from the lawn of the Flanders Men’s Club. Attendance is free, with $5 duck entries, prizes for first through third and last place, plus kids’ games and giveaways. Ducks launch at noon; rain date is Aug. 23.
